Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention distributes funds.
The Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs announced the awarding of $136 million to programs and services within the juvenile justice system this week. The 13 grants awarding this money are administered by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and are intended to support programs that prevent young people from coming in contact with the justice system.
Organizations designed to address the needs of at-risk young people through mentorship, violence prevention, and post-foster care treatment are all qualified to apply for these grants.
“By investing in reforms to the juvenile justice system, providing mentors for youth and helping young people find a path forward, we are helping the next generation claim a future filled with opportunity and hope,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Amy Solomon.
